New Novella, Docherty 5, and More Updates

I couldn’t think of a witty title.

When I made the decision to dust this blog off and make it, not only a tool for myself but for others as well, I got carried away with writing articles and haven’t posted much else, so I decided it was time for an update on what takes up my time when I’m not writing on this blog.

I am writing a new novella. At least, I think I am. My intuition tells me this story will be novella length (10,000-40,000 words) but once a story gets going, you never know.

I wanted to get this story out before I moved into Docherty 5, as I feel that book will be pretty thicc and will need a lot of time and focus. It feels like a big project and still needs time to brew in the back of my mind (think: Baba Yaga’s cauldron swirling with a universe inside. Docherty 5 is bubbling in there).

Additionally, I’ve been reading this novel called, Writer, You Need to Quit, and re-examining where I spend my focus and time as a writer, publisher, and entrepreneur.

It’s packed with a lot of information and I am going to skim over it one more time and take some notes before I write a full review for it, but I’m also taking notes because I am guilty of quite a few things written in the book.

Once I finish it, I am going to sit down and write out what my writing process looks like and the habits I’ve had that are slowing my process down, such as how much time I spend on social media and marketing. It’s going to be a lot of work, but in the end, I know it will be worth it.
